2003 Hershey Reunion
We arrived at the Earl Park, Indiana, Hershey
Reunion on Wednesday, 30 July. Several family members were already present. As
with the last two years, we "camped" at the Holiday Inn Express in
Kentland, where several other family members "camp." As we get older,
the comforts of a quality motel take precedence over the convenience and lower
cost of camping for the reunion. Several families do still camp, and Wednesday ,
Thursday, and Friday had several tents and screen rooms erected, with lots of
help and advise from those already present.
Thursday evening the group journeyed into
Kentland for a group meal at a pizza place.
Since this was the second year to do this, it must now be a tradition.
The "Official" start of the reunion is
Friday. A schedule of events is posted, with informal activities such as games
of Mexican Train and 3-13 going on both day and night.
Sitting and talking, looking at pictures, and reading are other popular
activities. A campfire with smores and Rueben sandwiches toasting are activities
every night.
